BMSHarley was appointed to deliver a comprehensive Building Management System (BMS) upgrade at Bracknell Healthspace, replacing ageing Trend hardware with the latest Trend iQ5 controllers, IQVISION supervisor platform and EcoS FCU controllers. The project modernised the site’s controls infrastructure while ensuring continuity of service within a live healthcare environment.
Bracknell Healthspace
Project Overview
The Challenge
The existing BMS had reached the end of its operational life, with legacy controllers and supervisory software limiting system performance, reliability and future support. The upgrade required careful planning and phased implementation to maintain building operation while integrating new technology with existing plant and services.
Our Solution
Our engineers designed, installed and commissioned a complete Trend BMS upgrade, including replacement controllers, migration of existing control strategies, installation of the IQVISION supervisory platform and upgrading of FCU controls to Trend EcoS technology. The project also included optimisation of plant control strategies, updating graphics and software databases, and full testing and commissioning to ensure seamless operation.
The Outcome
The completed upgrade has provided Bracknell Healthspace with a modern, reliable and scalable BMS platform, improving system visibility, operational performance and long-term maintainability. The optimised control strategies also support improved energy efficiency while maintaining occupant comfort, ensuring the facility is well equipped to meet future operational demands.
